There are primarily three ways that Kibu customers play classes from a TV:
via wired connection with a laptop (💡 most popular!)
via screen mirroring on a laptop or mobile device
via Airplay on an Apple MacBook, iPhone, or iPad
This option will work with any laptop that has a HDMI port.
1. Find Your HDMI Cable
Look for a cable that has the same ends on both sides, called an HDMI cable. It looks like this:
2. Find the HDMI Port on Your Laptop
Look at the side of your laptop for a hole that matches the shape of the HDMI cable end. It looks like this:
3. Find the HDMI Port on Your TV
Now, check the back or side of your TV to find the HDMI port. It looks the same as the one on your laptop and may have a number next to it, like "HDMI 1" or "HDMI 2."
4. Plug the HDMI Cable into Your Laptop
Take one end of the HDMI cable and plug it into the HDMI port on your laptop. Make sure it fits nicely.
5. Plug the Other End into the TV
Now, take the other end of the cable and plug it into one of the HDMI ports on your TV. Remember which number it is.
6. Change the TV’s Input
Use the TV remote, and press the "Input" or "Source" button until you see "HDMI 1" or “HDMI 2”
7. You’re Ready!
Play a movie, listen to music, or open your favorite app. Anything you do on your laptop should now also appear on your TV screen.
Steps for iPhone & iPad
1. Open Control Center: Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone/iPad screen.
2. Tap on "Screen Mirroring”: You'll see the option to mirror your screen.
3. Select Your TV: A list of AirPlay-compatible devices will appear. Tap your TV's name.
4. Start Streaming: Your phone’s screen will now appear on your TV!! 🥳
Steps for Macbook
1. Click the Control Center icon: It’s at the top-right of your Mac's menu bar.
2. Select "Screen Mirroring”.
3. Choose Your TV: Select your TV from the list.
4. Stream: Your laptop screen will be mirrored to your TV!! 🥳
Steps for Android
1. Open the Google Home app on your Android device. It's the app that has a multi-colored outline of a house on a white background.
2. Select your device from your Google Home room.
3. Once your device is open and powered on, click the "Cast my screen" button under that device or TV.
4. Confirm once again in the pop up window. Click on "Cast screen". If you don't see the device or TV you want to cast to, make sure the TV and Chromecast are both on and connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Steps for Windows Laptop
1. Open your computer's Start menu. Find and click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your computer's desktop to open the Start menu.
2. Click the gear icon on the bottom-left corner. This button is located above the Power icon in the lower-left corner of your Start menu. It will open your Windows settings in a new window.
3. Click Devices in the Settings window. This will open your device and connection settings.
4. Click Bluetooth & other devices on the left menu. This option is at the top of the navigation panel on the left-hand side of your Settings window. On most versions of Windows, the Devices menu will automatically open up to the Bluetooth & other devices menu.
5. Click + Add Bluetooth or other device. This option is at the top of the Bluetooth & other devices page. It will open your connection options.
6. Select Wireless display or dock on the "Add a device" menu. This will scan your network, and list all the available display devices you can use to mirror your screen.
7. Click your display's name on the "Add a device" menu. This will connect to the selected device, and mirror your computer's screen to your projector, monitor or TV.
